Automation Engineer

JOB OBJECTIVE / SUMMARY

Responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing automated systems to optimize production operational processes. Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement and apply expertise to create innovative automation solutions that enhance efficient manufacturing activities.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• System Integration: Integrate automated systems with existing machinery, software, and IT infrastructure.
• Process Optimization: Analyse current processes, identify opportunities for automation, and implement solutions to optimize performance, quality, and cost-efficiency.
• Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Troubleshoot issues with automated systems and provide technical support to minimize downtime.
• Programming & Software Development: Write and test code for automation systems, including PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA systems (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and other automation platforms.
• Documentation & Reporting: Create detailed documentation of automation systems, including technical specifications, troubleshooting guides, and process flow diagrams.
• Collaboration: Work with other internal stakeholder to ensure seamless automation system integration.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, automation technologies, and best practices to improve system performance and cost-effectiveness.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
• 2-3 years relevant experience in Mechatronics or PLCs programming and Mechanical/Electrical Engineering related disciplines.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge in programming languages - Siemens PLC Step 7, TIA Portal, WinCC, Omron PLC…
• Familiar with inverter (Lenze, SEW, KEB, Schneider)
• Knowledgeable in schematic electrical diagram.
• Knowledge in Controls Engineering techniques and practices.
• Excellent understanding of Computer Applications and the Microsoft Office family.
